I’m a big proponent of TPC Wire & Cable and have used many of their product offerings over the past several years at Simpson Tacoma Kraft. We used the 16/3 Super-Trex® Ultra-Gard® Portable Cable power our new LED lights on one of our roadways. Regular SO Cord would always become dry rotted and crack, causing the light to become inoperable. I have not experienced this problem with the Super-Trex cable.

Flexing

When operating robotic or automated equipment that is in constant motion, the type of cable handling the load is a critical component to keep things running efficiently.  The repetitive motion of machinery will destroy a conventional flexible cable in a matter of minutes leading to recurring failures and costly downtime. A cable that is simply flexible does not mean it will perform its job as needed over time to handle the constant and repetitive abuse of variable, torsional, and rolling applications.

Flexing cable must be engineered and tested to handle millions of cycles of repetitive bending, mechanical stress and damaging environmental elements such as heat, oil, ozone, chemicals and UV exposure.  Continuous Flex power and control cables are available in a variety of configurations with different materials, performance characteristics and ratings to provide a longer lasting solution for specific applications.
