Environmental Applications

    COLD TEMPERATURE APPLICATIONS

Whether you're preparing for cold weather or your applications are operating in a cold environment, TPC understands having a cable that can keep up with your operations in the most extreme climates can be a competitive advantage. Extreme cold temperatures can have adverse effects on your wire and cable, causing them to temporarily become inflexible and brittle. In these conditions, some cables will stiffen and even crack if they are installed below recommended temperatures. These conditions can lead to downtime, difficult installations, and even cause damage to cable jackets and insulation.

Choosing the right cold-temperature cable for your cold-temperature environment is key to a longer-lasting cable life. If you're looking for low-temperature (up to -70°C) cables with additional environmentally resistant properties, we have a wide variety of materials and configurations to suit every industrial application.

TPC Wire and Cables TOP Featured cold temperature Products:

The Chem-Gard® family of chemical-resistant electrical cable products are rated for temperatures as low as -60°C and features both power and and control sizes ranging from 18 AWG to 10 AWG in both shielded and un-shielded multiconductor cables and 18 AWG to 1 AWG in a variety of colors for single conductor cables.

Super-Trex® products are designed for impact, vibration, abrasion, pulling, flexing, oil, chemicals, extreme heat and cold. The Super-Trex® family of premium electrical cable products features an Extreme Temperature rated portable cord/power cable that is ideally suited for extreme cold temperature applications and is rated as low as -70°C per ISO standards (UL/cUL 105°C). The product features a cross-linked jacket that also offers excellent resistance to abrasion, oils and chemicals.

The Trex-Onics® product line is designed for continuous flexing applications in harsh environments. The Overall Shielded Continuous Flex Multi-Conductor Cable is rated for temperatures as low as -40°C and features finely stranded tinned copper conductors. It also features TPE insulation which allows the conductors to glide independently thus preventing binding and corkscrewing, and a heavy-duty polyurethane jacket to provide superior first line defense against industrial and environmental abuse including oils, abrasion and cut-through.
