Wire and cable industry experts spoke with Mary about what industrial processes are using certain types of electrical cables and also discussed additional industries that have played an important role in various design innovations.
David Sedivy and Tim Hannigan at TPC also discussed electrical wire and cable materials that match their harsh environments in this excerpt from "What industries are making the most impact on electrical cable designs?" in Wire and Cable Tips (a Design World publication) by Mary Gannon:
"To survive harsh environments, like machine tool, mining and construction, special jacketing materials have been developed to protect both the cables and their users.
TPC’s Hannigan said that cables used in construction equipment withstand the chemicals used in those industries."
