Working closely with the utility's engineering team, ATPC supplied flexible medium-voltage cable assemblies that were fully terminated, electrically tested, and loaded onto a field-ready custom deployment trailer before delivery. This eliminated the need for time-consuming field termination and testing while ensuring the assemblies were deployment-ready upon arrival.
To address deployment challenges in congested substations and difficult access locations, the trailer was engineered with a 360-degree rotating turret that allows cable to be paid out in virtually any direction. Crews can position the trailer where space allows and then rotate the reel to achieve the optimal deployment path, reducing setup complexity and minimizing the risk of equipment or cable damage.
The utility gained a safer, more efficient medium-voltage cable deployment system that reduced setup time and improved operational flexibility. With pre-terminated and pre-tested cable assemblies, crews could eliminate hours of field preparation work and respond more quickly during both planned maintenance and emergency restoration events.
