Founded in 1955 and based in Boston, Massachusetts, FEC has grown to be the leading supplier of electrical wiring harnesses, specializing in the production of over-molded, extra-flexible, multi-conductor, EMI-shielded cable assemblies and harnesses, and electro-mechanical assemblies custom-built for military applications.

Macedonia, Ohio – March 29, 2021 - TPC Wire & Cable (“TPC”), a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Hydro Group (“Hydro”), a global leader in custom subsea connectivity solutions. Based in Aberdeen Scotland, Hydro specializes in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of subsea connectivity products widely used in the oil & gas, marine, renewable energy, and defense industries. TPC recently formed an Engineered Products Division to expand its coverage of high-reliability end-markets like military, aerospace, and medical equipment. The acquisition of Hydro expands TPC’s presence in these desirable end-markets and strengthens its portfolio of specialized, high-reliability wire and cable solutions.  

Macedonia, Ohio – February 18, 2021 - TPC Wire & Cable (TPC), a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Integrated Cable Systems, Inc. (ICS), an ISO 9001 certified supplier of custom cables, harnesses, electro-mechanical assemblies and industrial panels. Based in Longmont, Colorado, ICS’s solutions are widely used in medical, test and measurement and other highly sophisticated markets where quality and precision are critical. TPC recently formed its Engineered Products Division to expand its coverage of high-reliability end markets like military, aerospace, medical equipment, and others. The partnership with ICS enhances TPC’s solutions offering to these end-markets by expanding its portfolio of specialized wire and cable solutions for high-reliability applications.  

Macedonia, Ohio – August 24, 2020 - TPC Wire & Cable (TPC) announced today that it has added to its HY-TREX® cable line with a complete offering of industrial network cables as part of a comprehensive portfolio to support its OEM customer base. The HY-TREX® brand was introduced last fall by the company to provide proven, consistent cable performance critical to its automation integrator and original equipment manufacturer customer base.

The new products include HY-TREX® High-Flex Horizontal CAT6A Ethernet, CAT5E Profinet, Profibus DP shielded cables all holding a 600V rating; Thick and Thin DeviceNet® system cables, and RS-485 communication cables all holding a 300V rating. Just as the previously released Power and Control Series, the newest data and network solutions have been manufactured to withstand a range of static and continuous flexing applications that routinely cause premature cable failure, especially when exposed to oils, extreme temperatures and mechanical abuse.

This acquisition allows TPC to expand its market reach and strengthen its portfolio of specialized wire and cable solutions to sophisticated, high cost-of-failure environments.
